🎯 Objective

Win exactly the number of tricks you bid each round. Predict precisely — not more, not less — to score points. The player with the most points after all rounds wins.

🃏 Setup

• Each round, every player is dealt a set number of cards (varies by round).
• A trump suit is declared at the start of each round — trump cards beat all other suits.
• Some rounds have No Trump — all suits are equal.

📢 Bidding

• Before play, each player bids how many tricks they expect to win.
• Bids go around the table. The dealer bids last.
• Dealer constraint: The dealer cannot bid a number that would make the total bids equal the number of cards dealt — someone must be wrong!
• You can bid 0 — meaning you plan to win no tricks at all.

▶️ Playing Tricks

• The player left of the dealer leads the first trick.
• Players must follow suit if they can. If you can't follow suit, you may play any card — including trump.
• The highest card of the led suit wins, unless a trump card is played — then the highest trump wins.
• The trick winner leads the next trick.

🏆 Scoring

Example: Bid 3, win 3 → score 13 pts. Bid 3, win 2 or 4 → score 0 pts.

🔁 Rounds

The number of cards dealt changes each round. In a 5-round game you go from 5 cards down to 1. In a 10-round game it goes 10 → 1. In a 20-round game it goes 10 → 1 then back up 1 → 10. Each round has a different trump suit.
